Ww2 in britain and germany, 1939-1945, almost 72 years ago. Bomb damage by allies and germans to the italian port city of naples. October 1943 and destruction from german mines in pisa, tuscany, September 1944: photos found in military archives, american soldier arriving in. Naples had a large port and they were heavily bomb because that"s were navy"s were located. One of the most bombed sites in ww2: when americans entered pisa they saw that many areas had been mined, destruction of monuments and towns of belgium and on france. Aerial bombing was done in the last months of the war. Venice was a major target by austrian bombers. Looking at the approach of sandbagging as protection. Much more developed air forces in ww2 in bombing, artillery and mining (big problem in iraq and syria) so when they leave an area its is still deadly. They were later made illegal at the hague conference in 1944.
