Colonial act of 1865 applied to all british colonies, so many colonies that sun always shine on one. Colonial legislator and make any laws but not violate british laws. Only applied to british north american colonies which would become canada. Statue of west minister of 1931- not all colonies were equal, higher class were called dominions, the british parliament will no longer make laws or authority over the dominions. Canada must also have basic rights as britain, not written but implied: doctorate of the parliament supremacy, doctorate of responsible government, doctorate of rule of law. 1940s montreal, quebec wasn"t that liberal, very small and white. Little tolerance for religious minorities , gov revoked liquor liscence cuz he kept bailing out jevohas witnesses out of jail , he ended up winning in court: the division of legislative powers (d. o. p. ) Some subjects are under federal authority and some is provincial (a) introduction: the federal system of government.
