Leukemia: over population of leukocytes, cancerous cells fill red bone marrow, crowding other cell lines. Leukemia is quickly advanced if it derives from stem cells, and slowly advancing if it involves. January 12, 2017 proliferation of later cell stages. Patients usually die from internal hemorrhage or overwhelming infections. Treatment: irradiation, antileukemic drugs, stem cell transplant. Leukopenia: abnormally low white blood cell count, commonly induced by drugs, particularly glucocorticoids and anticancer agents. Platelets are essential for the clotting process when a cut occurs they form a temporary plug that helps seal the break. Lifespan of 10 days if involved in clotting.
