Use of fossils they have to determine the species of new fossils by looking at the differences. Time period that existed between 23-5 mya. This period is when we first start to see fossils of apes. The fossils found with no tails indicated ape. More competition for food, less fruit due to the different trees. If earth did not cool down during this time humans would not have evolved. The period of time between 7-5 mya when we last shared a common ancestor with chimps.
