Films: mighty aphrodite (1995 dir; woody allen); plus an episode of star trek (1967 who mourns for adonais ) Hesiod: names/ themes: chaos, gaia/earth, ouranos/sky, aphrodite, cronus, rhea, zeus, hades, poseidon, demeter, hera, zeus, metis, athena. Lived around 700 bc: wrote two texts works and days and the theogony (about origins of the gods; his story not the story; both of them were poems. Hesiod works and days: written for his brother, perses, the five ages of man (pg. 3-4: golden, silver, bronze, heroes, iron, characters: prometheus, epimetheus, pandora, prometheus has done a lot to offend the gods, before this he tells his brother. Epimetheus the gods will play a trick on you, whatever the gods bring you don"t take it but the brother forget this.
