Related to the placement of narrative events. Recurrence of story events in the plot. Someone trying to avoid a dog and that is repeated. Singular events that are repeated many times (the event only occurs once but it is show multiple times (ex. Story events are reorganized to produce a plot. It is important to be aware of how the plot is structured. The restructuring of the story into the plot the more the viewer has to put work into understanding. Movement through different spaces and experiencing different things (ex. Time and space is important to the progression of the films pattern of development. Parallels are being drawn and the viewer is being cued. When you see parallels the director is trying to get the viewer to see similarities b/w different events. The story is plotted to a specific end. The closing is a variation on an established pattern.
