Hard to believe history of women"s subjugation in terms of work would not have bee possible without a culture that prescribed women and men to be specific ways; culture desirable to most members. Fact that we accept something does not mean that the thing we are accepting is natural or even good. Talking about a people as a whole: there is always a reason. To say that a woman has a particular nature that is unique and can be defined and all woman can be understood in this light is too far cannot universalize what a woman is. Culturally educated to embody certain personifications of gender. We don"t believe in gender stereotypes but perform them still the same. We might hate how we are generically described, but we as people take comfort in knowing what we are supposed to be and being it. Constantly looking for how we"re supposed to be.
