There"s an equal amount of literature highlighting children"s potential, especially intellectual potential to be a natural resource. There is an equal amount of literature discussing child abuse, neglect and sexual abuse which highlights that children may be at risk of trauma and unable to reach their full potential. Pearls of wisdom: children are observers, intelligent, critical thinkers, experimenters and relationship seekers. They feel love and self esteem, or the lack of it, they are impressionable, and look to learn. It"s believed that children are socially determined; they are born blank slates and society instills values and beliefs into them. Conway has thrown up a red flag saying, The crisis of the family in canada is one of monumental proportions and it touches us all. Conway believes that we need to take a long, hard look at the way that children are or are not contextualized.
