The extent to which its members desire to remain in it, and resist leaving it high group cohesion = group members want to stay in the group. Social cohesion: the extent that individuals enjoy interacting with other members, stay in the group because of that social satisfaction, cohesion higher if group members are similar (homogenous, homophile = wanting to associate with similar others. Task cohesion: individuals stay in a group because they enjoy/value the tasks and activities that the group offers, e. g. a soccer team. Isomorphism = goal of the group matches with the goal of the group: low would be unshared goals. Group goal = desirable outcome that is viewed as important to obtain by the members. Tendency of the presence of other in shared activity reduces the performance of activity.
