Socialization: the means by which social and cultural continuity are attained . Primary socialization: (focused on the most) childhood development; when a child learns attitudes and values from a small group or culture. Secondary socialization: processes of learning the appropriate ways to behave amongst other social groups, outside of the home (i. e. when a kid goes to kinder- garten). Anticipatory socialization: it is socialization that takes place before you enter the sphere you are to be shaped by. When we anticipate entering a role, we imagine being in the role and we consider how we must act/behave. (i. e. a soon-to-be parent) Re-socialization: refers to the process of changing/discarding a part of behav- iours and/or beliefs, and taking on new ones in our life.
