Changed from a practical to theory and went on an academic career. Became a lecturer at the u of berlin in 1891. Later on his interests started to shift to what would become his life ong interests (from law to economics/history/sociology) Continued to become a university of economics at the u of. Became chair of economics of u of heidelberg in 1896.
