Marx suggests that the ideologies about these 2 were twisted into a negative light due to capitalist ideologies. Socialism is the social formation win which the means of production are owned and regulated by the state. There is still a centralized state, but the state that exists to implement certain policies and then will eventually dissipate as it is no longer needed. The government exists to serve the interest for the capitalist class on the other hand the socialist state serve the interest of the people. Dictatorship of the proletariat, is the proletariat class ensure certain policies implemented.
