In the past 50 years we have been revisiting the work of these theorists and their work is now considered to be apart of these classical theorists. Harriet martineau, charlotte perkins gilman, w. e. b du bois -- he was a black sociologist and was among the first to write about race relations in the united. Started doing their work in the early to mid-twentieth century continuing up to the present day. Theorists associated with structural functionalism, neo-marxism, symbolic interactionism and other perspectives, Historical analysis of sociological theory -- sociological theory as it has developed over time. In the remainder of part one of the course we are going to be focusing on theoretical ideas up to the late 19th century into the early 20th century, and those theorists are marx, durkheim and weiber. Part 2 of the course, the early 20th century to the late 20th century, structural functionalism, symbolic interactionism. Lived through the rise of capitalism and the industrial revolution.
