The development of gender, ethnoracial, class, and sexual identities is always a joint social production (newman, 2016:114) Family, school, media, community, peer production and reproduction of our social identity. A life-long learning process of becoming a member of a group or a society. Involving the internalization of values, norms and different social roles. May not challenge after internalized; take them for granted. Social roles come with expectations from society, family, community (school, workplace, neighbourhood), etc. Socialization re-socialization (learn new norms/social roles) Distinctions along sex/gender lines are the cultural, institutional, even architectural foundations of everyday life. Its importance as a shaper of our social experiences is beyond debate. What is debatable, though, is where gendered traits and behaviours come from (newman, How it affects way we act and interact. There are inherent differences in how men"s and women"s brains are wired and how they work (goldman, 2018)
