Involves the learning of expectations about how to behave related to one"s gender . Learn through socialization with primary and secondary groups. Life events and experiences over the life course impact our socialization processes: all the different opportunities and experiences we have in life, all the people we meet at different moments in life. Life course perspective in sociology: historical and social context. Dependent on when we are born (i. e. : gen x, millennium babies, baby boomers, many of them are born and go through historical experiences together (i. e. : war, world events, politics, etc. The impacts that growing up in certain time periods or eras someone grows up in: timing and life stages. Interruptions in the normal trajectory is called a turning point . A significant life event; something happens that prevents you from going to university for example. Impact the way we see the world, and who we also become.
