Important b/c so rare that we see public accounts of racism. They felt racialist, otherist being made to feel different from everyone: they felt that their race was less of an issue in high school. Uni was the first time that they felt different. How do language, symbols, and interactions shape the ineractions shape the educational experience, and the subjective interpretrations of the learning environment. Society is saying do well in school to do well in life.
