Early gender socialization is significant, often teaches men to view women as sexual objects. Taught woman to accept unwanted sexual attention and blame themselves when it happens. Females under represented and portrayed in a stereo-typical way. Women were portrayed in passive roles, please the men in their life. Boys were adventurous, achieve a task requiring lot of independence. Change the roles of characters and change the ending of popular books. Ex: the paper bag princess by robert munch. Prince shows no appreciation and criticizes her hair and paper bag outfit. Despite variation over time, there is a fair degree of consensus surrounding what is more appropriate for a man or woman.
