Sociological imagination: individual experiences connected to a social context (think about a personal problem and seeing beyond the individual context regarding the broader society) Examples: unemployment or divorce: unemployment- if there is 10,000 people and they can all work except for one, it would be assumed that there is an issue with that single person. Sociologists suggest that couples point the nger at each other rather then at the broader society which is themselves. *** the sociological imagination allows people to understand the relationship between: social structure and human agency, processes and structures, psychology, biology, and sociology, public of social issues and private troubles *, nature and nurture. The more strongly anchored or attached a person is to society (through their social relationships, such as marriage), the less likely they are to commit suicide. Shuddered ideas that suicide can be explained in psychological thinking. Rates of suicide vary through factors such as gender, marital status, religion.
