This program provides finical benefits to canadians to care for a family member who is very ill (dying) Had to qualify for benefits based on previous years insurance earnings. Your child or the child of your spouse or common law partner (of at least one year) Your wife/ husband or common law partner. The common law partner of your father/ mother. Policies that assume finical support (filial responsibility laws- adult children to provide finical support if their elder parent is in dire of finical need, need a court case to do this)
