Abraham made sarah deceive the egyptians by saying that she is his sister so that he will not be killed because of her beauty. It was a threat to the promise of progeny, but it was averted. Pharoah slept with sarah, on the account of abraham not being killed. Pharoah found out that sarah was abraham"s wife so he made them leave egypt. God made a covenant with abraham and told him that he would have many descendants (as the stars) When god blesses abraham and changes his name, god changes sarah"s name too and provides a son for him through sarah. The age that sarah was (99) highlights the miracle of being able to bear a child. Covenant is to be established through this child: isaac. Abraham made sarah prepare food for the lord. Lord told him that sarah will have a son. The lord responds by asking if there is anything the lord cannot do.
