Variety of genres, very dynamic and diverse place. #2) precursors the classical period: stretch back 1000 years in history. Vedic religion is people/ migratory group of people who entered the subcontinent: they continue to migrate for centuries. Brahmanic religion, they moved across the northern part of the subcontinent, where you find the ganges river, the migratory people followed the ganges river and then settles along the ganges plain. Vedic -migratory people as they are moving, brahmanic- people once they have stopped migrating and have settled. Even though they form a continuum, in the classical period 500 b. c. e is the appearance of buddhism and jainism. Religion of migratory people who are the carriers of this tradition, they self identify with the people aryans or noble ones.
