How does prejudice express itself: by liberals, by conservatives. Superstitious, lazy, unreliable and other stereotypes declined rapidly. Black dinner guest, mixed marriage and segregated schools declined from 1963, 1976, and 1985. People making fun of me for my accent. Told to go home, exclusion from social interactions, difficulties in engaging, difficulty understanding idioms and expressions or jokes. Micro-insult: subtle communications that convey rudeness to a person"s racial or ethnic identity, rudeness or insensitivity. Automatic stereotyping leading to discrimination and prejudice. Removing politeness and conformity from the equation: children"s race biases are easily apparent. Unobtrusive measures of prejudice: white subjects are significantly less likely to help those of other races in a bystander intervention paradigm. They seem to take advantage of pluralistic ignorance and diffusion of responsibility: against blacks (attached movies from slides, against muslims, against jews. Physiological measures of prejudice: vanman et al. (1990) Heart rate, facial expression, galvanic skin response, etc.
