Jury summons=expected to show up: no showing=ine or jail ime, lawyer can challenge potenial juror: Peremptory challenge=juror unlikely to reach decision in their favour; no reason needed. Limited amount of these; 20 in murder cases, others about 12. Characterisics and responsibiliies of juries in canada: composiion that respresents the community in which the crime occurred, known as representaiveness. Can apply to community as well as defendant. Can be challenged for having too few women for example.
