Abnormal behaviour, behaviour disturbance, emotional disorders, psychological deficit (when there is something in the brain is not quite right) Mental illness, psychopathology, maladaptive behaviour and developmental disorder. There are some predictors that we see in adulthood that emerge in early childhood recent development as it was a foreign concept that there can be mental illness in a child. 3 yr old grew up fairly typically, loved to play with older sister but did not like to play with other kids. Very clingy unable to play with others, violent, does not want to eat. They waited a few weeks to adjust to see if behaviour would change. Think about what is typical for a child that age, what situation are they in and who is involved in their lives. Friendly, interacts with friends and very social where she used to live did not have a problem in school, great report cards.
