It is a difficult thing to study because of biases we have in our culture. It is a minority orientation, but it is still a significant number. Controversially: sexual orientation is a controversial topic. Indicate on a kinsey scale 0-6 what your sexual orientation is. 0 exclusively heterosexual, 3 bisexuals and 6 exclusively homosexual. Different ways to define sexual orientation for example: affectional orientation (whom your likely to fall in love) same type of idea it just takes it out of the bedroom. Number of ppl who are on the gay side of this distribution (so more attracted to their own sex) varies, but ppl who identify as gay we only talk about maybe 3% of the populatio(cid:374). So, it"s (cid:374)o(cid:374)-normative: 6% of men and 12% of women have had same sex contact, half of those include orgasms, but only 3% are reporting as identifying as gay. Younger people show higher incidence of homosexuality and bisexuality than do older people.
