Men don"t have the same restraints and consequences that women have. Babies are precious for women, babies are cheap for men so this leads to differences. Women benefit from choosiness being picky about her mate does he have resources, can he provide shelter, will he give me the resources cause if not then he ain"t worth mating with etc. Men and women have different reproductive concerns. For men babies are cheap they benefit from opportunism. Men will at some point want to invest in a long term relationship.
