White matter = myelin volume increases linearly with age through childhood & adolescence. A steady increase that continues into adulthood of white matter volume. Slight gender difference as well 11. 8 for males and 10. 2 years for females. Skills that have to do with locating objects in space. It"s their peak time during this age period. Leading the way and peaking the way of age matter. About a year late after parietal, same gender difference carried on. Peak in the frontal; responsible for executive functions: working memory. In the grocery store; where certain things are in a grocery store and what aisle and where are they located. Planning ability takes into account of working memory (executive function) and manipulates and plans out everything.
