Testosterone and estradiol levels during puberty -- figure 2. 3. These levels rise dramatically during puberty in both boys and girls. Extreme rise in testosterone in boys, slight increase in girls (not as dramatic linear increase) Height increase from age 1 to 18 -- figure. Up until age ~11-13, boys and girls are about the same height. After this there is a dramatic increase in height. Spurt starts at 10 for girls and 12 for boys. Spurt ends at 16 for girls and 18 for boys. In canada, average age of menarche is 13 years. Early and late menarche by province -- figure 2. 8. New brunswick has the highest rates of early menarche in the country and b. c has the lowest. Ontario has the highest rate of late menarche stage in the country and alberta has the lowest.
