A pronounced downward trend: average tempo is slowing down both for major and minor key pieces. Shows that over the past 40-50 years, we are using more minor keys and there exists temporal changes. Different people place different weights on cues. People can be more affected by performer controlled, composer controlled or instrument dictated cues: it all depends on the person. Cannot: recognize changes to pitches that are very salient to other people, recognize changes to timings that are very salient to other people. Has amusia": clinical condition where people are unable to process music information. But her cognitive abilities stay intact (iq, language abilities, hearing abilities all okay: therefore the deficits are specifically music focused.
