PSYCH 2C03 Lecture Notes - Lecture 8: Music Of Canada, Dependent And Independent Variables, Motivated Reasoning
Document Summary
If we"re only able to see one person, it makes fundamental attribution error worse, ie. the courtroom example. Ie. feeling anxiety, our heart rate will be high which may mean we"re nervous. We get cues from things around us that lets us know how to feel. Ie if we see a bear near us, we know to feel unsafe. Normally, these two work together to form correct attributions. High arousal (heart racing) + running from bear = fear. We might have false attribution as misunderstanding. Some people were giving a placebo, an arousal needle and told they were given it or an an arousal needle and told nothing about it. Place in situations that made them either feel euphoria or angry. Those in epi-inform could explain why they were feeling a certain way so they know why. They don"t need to look at their situation to explain their emotions cause they know why they are feeling what they are feeling.
