Everything currently or potentially available to consciousness: things in field that contents the things that we notice consciousness or that we could readily bring to conscious experiences. Only those things that are in the phenomenal field can be used in the growth process. Rogers and jung: self-actualization is the highest human motive, realized by a small fraction of people. Actualizing tendency: from birth to death all we are doing is becoming, growing, realizing our full inner potential, the only thing we are moved from, our innate need to fully realize all our potentials.
