Three subtypes: adhd- predominantly inattentive (adhd-pi, adhd-predominantly hyperactive and impulsive (adhd-phi, adhd-combined (adhd-c) "on the go" or acts as if "driven by motor: unable to play or engage in leisure activities quietly, talks excessively, blurts out answers before questions completed, has difficulty awaiting his or her turn. Other non-diagnostic characteristics: egocentric; unaware of how others see them. Insensitive to convention, social expectations: difficulty reading facial expressions, aggressive tendencies, poor understanding of groups dynamics; lack of social judgement, evidence that genetics have some characteristics in common in people who have depression, autism, adhd and more. In many cases, people can use the adhd diagnostic as an advantage, especially the hyperactivity which may make someone eager to learn, do or think more. Lifetime prevalence: how many people will have it during their lives: always the highest figure. Leads to underestimate of frequency: community estimates, how many cases in community sample, expensive and time-consuming, most accurate estimate, not commonly used.
