If he had asked his questions in a different way, babies maybe would have shown skills piaget said they don"t have: imitation. Exposed babies to a model making some sort of face (tongue out, lips pursed or mouth open) Model makes a face in front of baby. Watch if the baby makes the face back. For the majority of the time the baby does the proper facial expression imitation in response to model. Babies were really good at imitating tongue protrusions (they are good at this and do it on their own often) Replication issues: no other action is imitated as well as tongue protrusion. 9 months of age is the only time we see notable imitations in baby (win in piaget"s side)
