Wit mental illness, certain stressors, depression being expressed phenotypically, can pass it along to o spring. Experiences now can alter genetic code and then children will have that genotype. How does environment a ect genes, thereby a ecting outcome. Genotype- particular set of genes inherited from their parents, born with, code for you to be a certain way. Phenotype- observable expression of genotype ex. have tall genes,mal nutrition, and end up shorter than should be. When depressed, go to doctor, feel bad, need help, prescribed anti depressant.
