More socially component and liked better by peers. Parents ability to synchronize with children helps them achieve better social social skill: a 2x2 parenting style model. Kid knows that parents care about them. Substantially more likely to have a more secure attachment style. Do less well in school;lower iq score. Higher suicidal tendencies: longitudinal evidence on maternal warmth as a protective factor (pettit et al. , 1997) Study: 850 junior hs students ll up surveys with one survey measuring the level of control in their families by a questionnaire (e. g, someone in my family asks if i have my homework done)
