Bipolar disorder ii and ii can have series of depression. People like to spend more time with an individual before putting them on medication. Trephining = erratic actions being released by a hole driven in the back of someone"s head. They thought psychological disorders were because of the spirits that were evil. Reductionist perspective = look at the big picture and find a root biological cause. The whole goal is to find what is actually happening. Sometimes normal behaviour is different context are viewed as abnormal. Cultural behaviours have influence on what we find similar. The four ds: (you do not need all four d"s to be diagnosed) deviance, distress, dysfunction, danger. Deviance (straying away from the mean, the normal behaviour). Individuals with deviance fall within either of the tail end extremes. Distress (intense negative feelings of sadness, anxiety and despair) Dysfunction (behaviours interferes with ability to function properly) Danger (behaviour is dangerous to the self or to others)
