Each neuron organized into signalling pathways to communicate via synaptic transmission. Receptive zone: receive signals from other neurons made of = dendrites. Transmission zone: pass on signals to other cells made of = axon and terminal boutons. Cell body contains vital organelles which keeps cell functioning. Dendrites: reach out to other neurons and receive signals to be relayed through dendritic branch to cell body, some will be conveyed down axon.
