A reaction to the structuralist approach (in vogue at that time, which suggested that everything could be reduced to basic elements) Movement experienced when watching movies made by flashing slightly different static pictures every second. We perceive continuous movement as we watch rapid sequence of still pictures; more than the collection of still photographs (watching not same experience when analyzing photos) You would group daisies close together rather than grouping together some daisies from ne cluster with some from another cluster; x"s example: you"re more likely to group together the x"s close together than the x"s that are far apart. Xx: closure= if there are gaps in the contours of a shape we tend to fill in those gaps and perceive a whole object.
