How is information coded in the brain? (neuroscience perspective) Psychology intro: some of the things i know about psych are wrong, sciences move forward, and old claims are proved to be wrong. Can reductionism explain psychological disorders: i. e. Drilling holes into people"s skulls to release evil spirits allowing the brain to expand and heal: psychological processes are embedded in biology. Women and men: desirable traits in mates. Women lean towards older, taller, well- established in the career, financially-table men. Men lean towards younger, attractive women: your perception of the world is guided by prior experience, biases and heuristics. Sound and visual input sometimes get mixed up, like sound dub and lip movement: we are very visual creatures, pay much attention to images, we only have access to a limited subset of reality. Attention to details: we ignore things that are not relevant to us, like a black gorilla while paying attention to the white t-shirt team.
