This type of learning is only one side of the coin. Child only needs to touch hot stove once to learn to avoid pain. Predator learns to associate specific locations with prey to increase yield of hunt. Nicole suffers from chronic headaches --> particularly bad during low atmospheric pressure. Pain from headache coincides with first few raindrops of rain falling to ground. Recently noticed that head begins to throb at sight of cloudy sky. Doctor prescribed medication in form of red pill --> nicole takes daily with lunch. Foundation for classical conditioning done by famous russian physiologist ivan pavlov in. Cc is also referred to as pavlovian conditioning. Salvation in mouth as food is first ingested. Observation: dogs would begin to salivate before food reached mouth. Like an early step in process of digestion was triggered before food stimulus arrived. Sound of metronome signaled to dog that food was about to arrive.
