PSYCH 1F03 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: France 3, Reinforcement
Document Summary
Classical condiioning :- the process by which organisms learn the coningencies between biologically important simuli. This relexive type of learning can occur in the absence of overt training-simply presening together two biologically important simuli leads to their associaion. Instrumental condiioning :- involves explicit training between voluntary behaviors and consequences. it is the learning of a coningency between a behavior and a consequence. In classical condiioning, acquisiion is a process by which an organism learns the coningency between simulus and a biologically important event. In instrumental condiioning, the process of acquisiion leads to learning the coningency between a response and its consequences. Not all behaviors are autoshaped. complex behavior can be organized into smaller steps(successive approximaions) which gradually build up to the full response we hope to condiion. Each of these steps can be reinforces through reward training. (technique used by animal trainers)
