Two unconscious learning processes classical condiioning :- allows us to associate two related events instrumental condiioning :- allows us to associate acions and consequences. Classical condiioning aka pavlovian condiioning to honor ivan pavlov"s (russian physiologist) contribuions. Condiional relex :- it is condiional upon training. A reflex response to a new stimulus can be learned. A russian scientist called pavlov trained dogs to expect food whenever he rang a bell. The dogs eventually produced saliva when they heard the bell ring. Pavlov was studying a contingent relationship, i. e the presentation of one stimulus reliably leads to the presentation of another. e. g. you see a flash a lightning just before you hear the crash of thunder. When an organism learns the association between a signal and event, a contingent event has formed between the two stimuli. Classical conditioning : the learning of a contingency between a particular signal and a later event that are paired in time and/or space.
