Global hunger index- it is important because the issue development in hunger was not a prominent one until the 1980s. People begin to pay more attention to hunger development in 1980s at the same time looking at other issues important for. Issues like aids, tb etc. a lot of things which states have said it is a pressing security issue, but hunger has not gone away and in many parts of the world has deteriorated. While we have pharmaceutical companies researching on aids etc where they make a profit there is none on prevention of profit. But there has been no incentive to stop hunger; a political motivation was/is needed. Hunger is a problem in sub-saharan africa and asia. But it is a growing issue in western countries too.
