POLSCI 2I03 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Stephen D. Krasner, Antonio Gramsci, World Politics
Document Summary
Capitalism is an exploitive form of class relations where the capitalist bourgeoisie unfairly exploit the working class proletariat and extract surplus value from their labour. In order for money to grow you have to pay people less than the worth of their work: people taking advantage of the powerlessness of the people who work. Capitalism contains internal contradictions that will inevitably cause a rupture in class relations and the shift to a higher form of social/economic organization. Emancipation and progress: emancipation theory, praxis the application of insights in the everyday world of people who are suffering.
