Document Summary
Last ~7 minutes: suggestions for a #betterposter design. Campaign for a new way to present and create posters. Poster sessions have too much information to digest. How to lay out your poster: take results, and conclude/interpret something from it, make it into one catchy sentence, make it visually accessible, put more information (e. g. figures, raw data) in the margins. The conference is meant to look at other people"s data and interpret it for themselves; not to look at oversimplified results: scientists want to be critical about others" results, not just read their conclusions, too oversimplified. Itpc: international twitter poster conference accessible conferences as long as you have a computer. Anyone with an internet connection can attend the conference through twitter. Conversations can be endless; talk beyond the time constraints of the conference. Without having to engage with the poster presenter in person, a lot of biases are dropped: some people may only engage with certain types of people.
