Socrates seems to be a sage of a sort thru the dialogues. He seems to be more wise and intuitive to his soul. Conventionally everyone does not have the greatest thoughts on death and it is seen as evil. If you"re afraid of death you"re impeding your own wisdom. If you"re afraid of something you don"t know or haven"t experienced then you are restricting yourself from learning. The fear of death is the obsession of bodily pleasure. You shouldn"t fear something you don"t know. We don"t consciously think of it as the unknown but we make it a fear bc we know we are no longer in the living world. He tries to invert our thinking on this topic. Disguise your intentions by manipulating words and swaying opinions. A seductive artist opposed to a rational one. Honourable suicide like putting your life on the line for your country (military)
