Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life thinking it"s stupid. It"s a spectrum disorder - each person with autism presents symptoms differently: main symptoms are around social interactions and communication, autism is not something that is specific to children, something that one lives with their whole life. If you have met one person with autism, you have met one person with autism - it is not possible to generalize the whole spectrum: you don"t understand spectrum. Such diversity in how autism can present themselves: does not appear to have any link to ses or cultural factors, can affect anyone in any culture and any ses. Some theories suggest that it is genetic; not enough information. Theories around injections, vaccinations: controversial, nothing 100% stating the cause why autism develops.
