What is aging: no normative established values of what cognitive impairment or memory loss, or what neurochemical and neurophysiological changes accompany normal aging. For children we have these normal aging processes: e. g. at this age, you have certain milestones. For elders it"s not as normative: e. g. when you hit 50 you"re going to have a whole head of white hair. Losing your memory due to impairment is due to dementia: aging doesn"t normally damage your memory, complex developmental process that involves the intersection of physical, psychological and social factors. Increased longevity: more knowledge about preventing diseases and illnesses, we made lots of changes in increasing and impacting longevity, no smoking in certain areas, wearing seatbelts etc. Biological age: the ongoing process, birth-death: our chronological age doesn"t always match the biological age.
