Believes that you could achieve this higher consciousness by stimulating the brain. Anything that was thought to be good in the counterculture was (cid:873)psychedelic(cid:874) Counter culture developed a homology an underlying similarity bw things that appear very different on the surface. Poster art made their art hard to read, had to work to figure it out. Clothing - lots of colours, loose fit for movement. Drugs - ppl were quite naive about drug use, was a genuine attempt to find alternative way of being and thinking, access different parts of the brain.
