Pop bands didn"t go to sports stadiums before cause they didn"t think they could fill them, only played in theatres, etc. Merchandising wasn"t new but no one has never pushed it to this limit before, where they put beatles faces or whatever onto items and sell it. Then beatles returned to england after being gone for 2 weeks only: 50 000 teens showed up to watch beatles get off the plane. Hysteria known as beatlemania : people were losing sense of self control or sense of though when they see. Beatles a mental disease known as beatlemania. 12 songs in the billboard top 100 pop. Three weeks in april 60% of all record sales.
